Dr Julio Rios Saucedo finished his degree in 2003, the year in which he was awarded the title of Forest Engineer by the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro (UAAAN) Saltillo Coahuila. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Forestry Sciences of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, where he obtained the degree of Master of Forestry Sciences in 2005. In 2017 he finished his Doctorate studies obtaining the title of Doctor of Forestry Sciences at the University of Concepción in Chile. Since 2008, he has been working at the National Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Livestock Research (INIFAP) as a researcher in the Sustainable Forest Management and Environmental Services Program. His area of ​​specialization is the Management of Arid Zones and Watershed Management.

Julio is a Full-time INIFAP researcher, member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) level I, participation as author and co-author in 40 scientific articles in ISI-Thomson Reuters journals, presentation of 54 extensive papers in national and international conferences, responsible for projects of regional and state research, director of undergraduate and graduate theses, generation and transfer of technologies for technicians and producers of temperate and semi-desert forests in north-central Mexico.
